Notre-Dame de Paris

Notre-Dame de Paris is one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture. Construction began in 1163 under Bishop Maurice de Sully and was largely completed by 1345. The fire of 15 April 2019 destroyed the spire and roof; after an extensive restoration the cathedral reopened on 7–8 December 2024. It forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage site "Paris, Banks of the Seine".
